What is the Safety Relay? Is the Safety Relay Good?

What is the Safety Relay?

The safety relay is the combination of several relays and circuits to complement each other’s abnormal defects in order to achieve the complete function of the relay with correct and low error probability. The lower the error and failure value is, the higher and safety factor will be. Therefore, it is necessary to design a variety of safety relays to protect the machinery of different grades. All in all, the primary objective of the safety relays is to protect the mechanical operators who are exposed to different levels of risks.

Working Principle of Safety Relay

How does the safety relay operate from the operating principle? The so-called safety relay does not mean the relay with no fault, but the failure to make regular action. It has the contact structure with a mandatory guide, in case of the happening of contact fusion can also ensure users’ safety, which makes the safety relay differing from the general relay.

Is the Safety Relay Good?

The electromagnetic relay is generally composed of iron core, coil, armature, contact reed and so on. As long as the certain voltage is added at the both ends of the coil, the certain current will flow through the coil, which will result in the electromagnetic effect, and then the armature will overcome the pull of the return spring to the core under the action of electromagnetic fore attraction. Thus, the action will drive the moving contact of the armature which is normally open contact and static contact which is normally closed contact. When the coil is power off, and then electromagnetic attraction will disappear. The armature will return back to its original position in the spring reaction force, so that the moving contact and the original static contact release. In this way with the attraction and release, the purpose of conduction and cut-off in the circuit can be achieved.
